# Custom Hitsounds

> Add and select custom hitsounds in Final.

**1. Prepare your hitsound**

Trim any silence from the beginning of your audio so the sound starts immediately at **0:00**.

>
> Only `.wav` files are supported.

**2. Open the hitsound folder**

Navigate to **Misc → Settings** and find the **Hitsound** section. Click the **settings icon**, then the **folder icon** to open the hitsound folder.

**3. Add your hitsound**

Drag your `.wav` file into the hitsound folder.

**4. Select your hitsound**

Return to the menu and select your hitsound from the dropdown.
